New York’s East Village has a reputation for being a cultural melting pot and a hive of artistic activity. Volar celebrate their 4th anniversary with special guest Mr Flash from Ed Banger Records on Tuesday 23rd December. When the club opened in 2004 in the heart of Lan Kwai Fong, Hong Kong, it quickly became the most sexy and chic underground club in the city with a guest list only door policy attracting the elite and resulting in long queues outside. With regular visits from members of Ed Banger Records it only seems fit that they invite Mr Flash famous for his Monsieur Sex album released on the label.
NYE 2009 will not only be the massive party that The End in London generally organize, but this one will go down in history because it’s set to be The End’s final New Year'sbash after 13 years (last event on 24th Jan 09) at the forefront of London’s electronic music scene. Laurent Garnier has been one of the club’s resident DJs since the very beginning, so it only seems fit that he and Layo (half of Layo & Bushwacka!), wanted to play this very special last New Year’s Eve together at the club. If you’re a fan and in London for New Year’s you’ll certainly do your best to be there, but the great news is that the rest of the world can enjoy the event LIVE on Awdio! Laurent Garnier and Layo will be spinning for you straight to your living room.

We're sorry to announce that Third Class, Melbourne will be closed for ever as from January Ist with their last party being held on New Year’s Eve. They’ve established themselves as a haven for the nu-rave generation with the manifesto of not being just a club but a lifestyle choice! Here at Awdio we’ve been enjoying the bass-heavy, full on sounds mixed by their resident DJs Megawuoti, Jean-Pierre and Cheapdate broadcast live from the venue every weekend. The good news is that although Third Class is physically closing, the concept will be transferred to a new home, so watch this space and enjoy the final parties from this social sanctuary of weekend madness.
On Wednesday 16th Dec, the ‘listening lounge’ Sonotheque in Chicago celebrates six years of adventurous and cutting edge music. The venue started out as a listening lounge for music that most local clubs shied away from, then expanding into a VIP free zone where music comes first and foremost. What better way to celebrate than with the owner Joe Bryl’s flagship event Rebirth which goes deep into the exploration of soulful house, nu jazz, broken beat, Brazilian funk, Afro Beat, Hip Hop and much, much more. The first 200 who can make it down will receive a complimentary CD, the rest of us will be able to enjoy the party with guest DJ Eric Williams, from a distance.
