Paris Social Club celebrates its 1st birthday all week starting on Wednesday 14th January. Tonight’s festivities will be hosted by the French touch legend Philippe Zdar of Cassius fame, Jerry Bouthier from London’s Boombox nights. Not to mention British baseline/bounce producer Mumdance who’ll get ya mammas bouncin’ that’s for sure.

An enjoyable moment with the Danish electro-pop band WhoMadeWho at their hotel just before their performance at Paris’ Social Club last Wednesday with tales of stage acrobatics at Paris Paris (in Paris), George Clinton, schizophrenic personalities veering from the extremely silly to the deadly serious and a slice of local life in Copenhagen. The first event to be broadcast live on Awdio from Paris’ Social Club is tonight’s ‘Anti Social’! This mid-week bash organized by local promoter Edward Rostand invites local and international labels and artists to showcase their sound. Tonight, it’s the German label Gomma who take over the club with Danish electro-pop trio WhoMadeWho, there to promote their latest release ‘TV Friend’ remixed by Hot Chip. Also up is one of the Gomma label managers Mathias Modica aka Monk who’s latest EP ‘Down in L.A’ featuring actress Asia Argento is fast becoming a dance-floor staple.

Helmut Geler aka DJ Hell has been at the forefront of the German house/techno scene for many years. His first club hit ‘My Definition of House Music’ released on R&S records in 1992 was simply massive and he hasn’t looked back since. These days he runs his own imprint International Deejay Gigolo records, with productions by artists such as Jeff Mills, David Carretta and Tiga too name but a few. He has never lost his love for Djing and dressing up, and tonight he will be performing a marathon set in Paris.
