What do you think? Flore

flore

Are you for or against live streaming and broadcasting of DJ sets and concerts from clubs or concert venues on the internet and why ?

I think it’s an interesting idea, I’ve heard about a similar platform, and I find it quite amazing to be able to listen to a Dj set from the other side of the world! What’s more, as a party organizer you can get a more precise idea of what a Dj or someone else sounds like on stage without re-editing done afterwards on a computer.

Andy Gardner and Lee Rous aka the production and DJ duo The Plump Djs have played an essential role in the development of the UK Nu Skool breaks scene. Their first releases on the Finger Lickin’ label took the dance floors by storm and their massive b-lines, acid build-ups and funk inspired samples have become what they are known for today. Their sound is as appreciated by the breaks scene as it is by house Djs like Pete Tong, Sasha and The Chemical Brothers all giving them support. Their DJ sets are as punchy and upbeat as their records so expect non stop party music. They are joined by key players on the local breaks scene; Cedrick Benoit, Prosper and Flore.

Overdose : Josh Wink
Style: House
Philly based DJ and Producer Josh Wink brought back the sound of acid house back in 1995 with his still very play listed track ‘Higher State of Consciousness’, which has remained a must-have record in any self-respecting Dj’s box. Not to mention ‘Don’t Laugh’ (it’s the track with a contagious loop of someone laughing over a techno beat) which has also remained a classic. He now runs his own label Ovum Records with King Britt. Wink is invited to spin one of his unpredictable sets at Montreal’s gay hot spot at the popular Overdose Thursday night event.
