Literally called the ‘salty kiss’ Le Baiser Salé live music club in Paris was opened in 1983 by the Gibson’s brothers (three French Caribbean brothers) all musicians in their own right. Now Maria Rodriguez is at the head of programming at this unique jazz club on the famous rue des Lombards. This late night club attracts lovers of jazz and live music and is a unique place where the public can meet and drink with the musicians once they’ve finished on stage. Read more

At Yumla (Hong Kong) they celebrate the whole weekend with ‘Fab Friday’ on the 12th featuring Kid Drafus, The Prawn and Mulitboy and then grrr er no, grrrl action on Saturday 13th featuring Wendy Wen, Kerri & Ocean lam doing some minimal electronic stuff. At Zouk (Singapore) the resident DJs get their paws on the decks and bring out the cool cats, and at Bar Rouge (Shanghai) it’s just a great excuse for a big party! So get onto Awdio this weekend it’s bring the tiger out in you.

Bar Rouge opened its luxurious doors 5 years ago when French crew decided to take on the challenge of bringing something new to Shanghai’s nightlife and clubbing scene. Their entertainment manager Gaelle Villeneuve has joined the team bringing with him his experience of Cannes clubbing. Resident DJs spin every night with the occasional international guest such as Agoria, Kerri Chandler and Michael Canitrot dropping in for a special set. To celebrate the release of their debut album ‘Radio’, the British duo Audiojack are about to embark on an Asian and Australian tour. But before they set off they will be spinning at Leeds’ ‘Back to Basics’ with their 20:20 Vision label manager Ralph Lawson. This year Awdio.com was selected as one of the 15 start-ups to demonstrate their website at MidemNetLab, the new business innovations section of Midem (the annual music business fair in Cannes, France). Music Ally and the MidemNetLab judges were looking for the most innovative and hottest start-ups bringing exciting new digital solutions to the music industry. These carefully selected 15 companies were selected as business ready, with a business concept demonstrating real innovation and original thinking. Amongst the other chosen companies were bandcentral.com, gomix.com, radionomy.com and tunewiki.com.
